▎01 / Why marble waxing matters

Protection and gloss, restored.

Marble is porous — without a protective wax layer, it absorbs stains, loses gloss and becomes increasingly difficult to clean. Regular waxing is the difference between marble that ages beautifully and marble that just ages.

Restores natural gloss

Returns marble to its original depth of shine. High-quality wax amplifies the stone’s natural veining and undertone — noticeably richer than cleaning alone can achieve.

Protects against staining

The wax layer seals the marble’s micro-pores — preventing cooking oils, coffee, wine and cleaning products from penetrating and permanently discolouring the stone.

Reduces surface wear

Wax acts as a sacrificial protective layer — taking the micro-scratches from daily foot traffic instead of the marble surface. Extends the interval between more costly grinding or re-honing work.

Extends marble lifespan

Regular 6–12 monthly waxing is a fraction of the cost of marble re-grinding or replacement. Consistent protection preserves the marble surface for decades — particularly important in Singapore’s humid conditions.

▎02 / Marble types we treat

All common marble types in Singapore.

Different marble types have different hardness, porosity and finish requirements. Our team selects the right wax grade and technique for each stone type.

Cream & Beige Marble

Warm-toned Italian-style marbles including Crema Marfil and local beige variants. Common in Singapore HDB kitchens and living rooms. High stain risk — waxing essential.

▸ High priority · 6-monthly

White Marble

Carrara, Calacatta and Statuario white marble. Elegant but highly porous and vulnerable to yellowing, etching and staining. Regular waxing prevents irreversible discolouration.

▸ High priority · 6-monthly

Grey Marble

Bardiglio, Silver Shadow and grey travertines. Mid-density stone — typically more stain-resistant than white marble but benefits significantly from waxing to maintain gloss depth.

▸ Standard · 6–12 monthly

Black & Dark Marble

Nero Marquina, Black Galaxy and dark limestone. Shows water spots and smearing most visibly — waxing provides a consistent gloss that conceals minor marks and dramatically improves cleanability.

▸ Standard · 6–12 monthly

Green & Coloured Marble

Verde Guatemala, Forest Green and similar coloured stones. Specialist waxes used to avoid altering the stone’s natural saturation and colour balance during application.

▸ Standard · 12-monthly

Travertine

Travertine’s characteristic open pores require filling before waxing can be fully effective. Our team assesses whether grout filling is needed before the wax application stage.

▎03 / Our process

Five-step marble waxing process.

Every Lexsure marble waxing visit follows the same structured 5-step process — ensuring consistent results and protecting your marble throughout the treatment.

01

Surface Preparation & Cleaning

Thorough cleaning to remove dust, grit and surface dirt that would trap under the wax layer and create scratches during polishing.

02

Deep Stain Removal

Targeted treatment of stained areas with specialist marble stain removers — addressing coffee, oil, rust and organic stains before the wax is applied.

03

Professional Wax Application

High-quality marble wax applied evenly across the surface using professional applicator pads — ensuring even penetration and coverage at correct thickness.

04

Polishing & Shine Enhancement

High-speed polishing machine buffs the wax layer to a smooth, high-gloss finish — revealing the marble’s natural depth and veining pattern.

05

Inspection & Handover

Careful room inspection for even coverage, consistent gloss and any missed areas. Maintenance guide issued. 14-day workmanship guarantee confirmed in writing.

▎04 / FAQ

Marble waxing questions, answered.

Common questions Singapore homeowners and property managers ask before booking a marble waxing service. For a specific assessment, WhatsApp or call us directly.

Every 6 to 12 months, depending on traffic and usage. High-traffic marble in living and dining areas benefits from 6-monthly waxing. Marble in bedrooms or low-use areas can go 12 months or longer. Marble that hasn’t been waxed in over 2 years may need crystallisation or re-grinding before waxing can be effective — our team will assess during the free consultation.

Yes — our process is suitable for all common Singapore marble types including Carrara, Calacatta, Crema Marfil, Nero Marquina, Emperador, travertine and local beige marble. Our team selects the appropriate wax grade and application method based on the specific marble hardness and finish level.

Marble waxing applies a protective layer on top of the stone. Crystallisation is a chemical process that bonds protection into the top layer of the marble itself — harder, longer-lasting and better suited to commercial or high-traffic marble. Waxing typically needs re-doing every 6–12 months; crystallisation can last 12–24 months. Our team will advise which is most cost-effective for your marble and usage during the free site visit.

An average HDB or condo living and dining area of 40–60m² takes 3 to 5 hours. Larger areas, or marble requiring heavy stain pre-treatment, take longer. All furniture must be cleared before our team arrives. The wax requires 2–3 hours drying time before light foot traffic and 12–24 hours before replacing furniture.

Surface stains are treated during step 2 (deep stain removal) before waxing. Fine surface scratches are smoothed during polishing. Deeper scratches, etching from acid spills or heavy embedded staining may require marble grinding or re-honing before waxing is effective. Our team will assess during the free visit and give an honest recommendation.

Damp mop with pH-neutral cleaner weekly. Never use acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon-based products), bleach or abrasive scrubbers — these strip the wax and etch the marble surface. Wipe spills immediately, especially acidic liquids such as coffee, citrus juice and wine. We provide a written maintenance guide at handover.

Yes — we service both residential and commercial marble floors island-wide, including hotel lobbies, retail stores, office reception areas and healthcare facilities. Commercial work is frequently scheduled after hours or on weekends to avoid business disruption. We provide completion documentation for commercial property managers.

New marble should cure for at least 28 days after grouting before waxing. Waxing too early traps moisture from the substrate, causing cloudiness under the wax coating. Our team will confirm the right waiting period during consultation based on your specific marble and installation type.
