▎01 / Why luxury vinyl

Performance and safety, engineered for the sport.

Sports flooring is safety-critical infrastructure. The wrong surface causes injury. The right surface protects joints, improves performance and passes regulatory inspection. Here’s what Lexsure’s sports vinyl delivers.

Joint-protecting shock absorption

25–50% shock absorption measured per EN 14904. Reduces impact load on knees, ankles and hips during jump landings and rapid direction changes — reducing injury rates and long-term joint wear.

Precision slip resistance

Balanced friction — enough grip for fast footwork, not so much that pivots and slides cause knee stress. Surface friction tested to EN 13036-4 standards for each sport category.

Consistent ball response

Ball rebound and bounce behaviour critical for badminton, basketball and volleyball. Our court surfaces deliver consistent response that doesn’t degrade with temperature or humidity variation.

Humid-climate stability

Won’t warp, bubble or delaminate in Singapore’s high humidity. Dimensionally stable under temperature variation and high-intensity activity. Performs day one of installation, not after a run-in period.

Tender-ready documentation

EN 14904 test certificates, product datasheets, installation records and warranty — issued as a complete documentation package for MOE, SportSG, ActiveSG and BCA tender submissions.

Easy hygiene maintenance

Seamless, non-porous PVC surface resists sweat, spills and bacteria growth. Daily dust-mop and weekly damp-mop with neutral pH cleaner — no wax, seal or specialist contractor required.

Why PVC sports vinyl over timber, epoxy or rubber?

Four surface types are commonly specified for Singapore sports facilities. Here’s how they compare across the criteria that matter most for performance, safety and long-term cost.

06 / Install process

From site audit to certified handover.

Sports flooring installation is more precise than standard commercial fit-out. Subfloor flatness tolerance is ±3mm over 2m, moisture is critical, and court line-marking requires a separate confirmation step. Our process handles all of it.

01

Site Audit

Subfloor flatness check (≤ 3mm/2m), moisture measurement, existing substrate assessment, site access conditions. Full written report before any specification is issued.

02

Specification & Court Layout

Product confirmed for sport type. Court layout drawing prepared and approved — line positions, colour zones, boundary markings — before any material is ordered.

03

Install & Line-Marking

Subfloor levelling and priming, vinyl bonding, heat-welded or glue-down seams, court line-marking applied and cured to correct friction. Perimeter edging and trim fixed on completion.

04

Certification & Handover

Post-install shock-absorption verification, slip-resistance check, documentation package prepared. Walk-through with client. Full docs issued — ready for MOE, SportSG or BCA submission.

07 / FAQ

Sports flooring questions, answered.

Common questions from facility managers, school PE coordinators and QS teams. For project-specific specs or tender support, speak to our sports flooring specialist.

For badminton courts, we recommend PVC sports vinyl with a fine-grain surface texture and 4.5mm–6mm thickness. The fine-grain pattern provides the correct friction for shuttle-court footwork, rapid directional changes and safe landings. Our badminton-court range meets BWF (Badminton World Federation) performance guidelines and is installed across Singapore sports academies and community clubs.

Yes. Our multi-sport PVC vinyl meets FIBA Level 1 performance requirements for basketball courts and BWF court requirements for badminton. Technical datasheets confirming shock absorption percentages (measured per EN 14904), ball rebound, rolling load and slip resistance are available on request and supplied as part of SportSG and MOE tender submissions.

Yes — in most cases our PVC and rubber sports flooring can be installed over properly prepared concrete, epoxy or ceramic tile substrate. The subfloor must be flat (less than 3mm deviation over 2m), dry (relative humidity < 75%) and structurally sound. Our team will assess your subfloor during the free site visit and confirm suitability before any work commences.

Yes. Lexsure Flooring provides a full documentation package for institutional and government project tenders: EN 14904 test certificates (shock absorption, ball rebound, slip resistance), product datasheets and safety data sheets, installation records and completion reports, and warranty documentation. Our team has supported MOE school halls, ActiveSG facilities and town council community sports spaces.

Typical install timelines: 100–200 sqm multi-sport court = 2–4 working days; condo gym or fitness studio (50–100 sqm) = 1–2 working days; full school hall (500–800 sqm) = 1–2 weeks, typically scheduled during school holidays to avoid disruption. Timelines depend on subfloor condition, product type, court line-marking scope and site accessibility.

PVC sports vinyl is optimised for court sports — it provides precise friction control for footwork, consistent ball rebound, and is approved for BWF, FIBA and ITF court standards. Rubber gym flooring is optimised for weight rooms — it absorbs dropped equipment impact, is extremely durable under static loads, and provides anti-fatigue cushioning for standing workouts. Most facilities use PVC vinyl for courts and rubber for dedicated weight or functional training areas.

Yes. Lexsure includes court line-marking as part of the sports flooring installation for badminton courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts and multi-sport configurations. Lines are applied using court-grade acrylic paint or embedded colour PVC strips depending on the product specification. Layout drawings are confirmed and approved before marking commences.

PVC sports vinyl requires daily sweeping or dust-mopping to remove grit that causes micro-abrasion on the wear surface. Weekly damp-mopping with a neutral pH sports floor cleaner maintains hygiene and preserves slip characteristics. Never use wax, oil-based polish or solvent cleaners — these alter the friction rating and compromise athlete safety. A maintenance schedule is issued at handover.
